Audience feedback

I feel that audience feedback is important to our group as it helps highlights our strengths and weakness for our final production.Throughout the stages of our production we will be asking for audience feedback and trying to change what we think is amicable and will improve the final product. We will also upload it onto Youtube so we can give strong evidence of audience feedback and its a great way too keep a note of what potential audiences may think. Keeping the target audience at 15-24 means us as teenagers have alot of opportunity too ask people in that age bracket what they think.

6th November 2009
Whilst discussing film titles in class, we received a range of feedback on our title "A Date from Hell".
It was mainly positive as they liked how there is a direct link into the narrative of the trailer however, some class members thought it sounded like a chick flick rather than a killer.
For the narrative of them film they liked the idea how it is unclear who the killer is as typically in most films, it is a male killer.

Good variation of signifiers that something is going to happen.

Could use more shots emphasizing vulnerability.

Shots blend in together well.

Majority of shots are framed well and lighting is good.

14th December 2009

Cut down shot off clothes being thrown - we have cut this down and also intercut shots of clothes being thrown when the main protagonist and the boy are kissing in the taxi

Needs something to link Sam with girls - this is now theo and we have decided too have a picture of all three girls and by each killing cut one girl off the picture.

Change transistions so they follow each other such as Be prepared, for a little bit of heaven, but a lot more Hell.

Flash 3 killings before Protagonists face at the end.

Shot variety is needed when the couple are in the back of the taxi- we have changed this too a shot reaction shot

The acting needs too be more seriously - we have done some re-shoots

It should start with the clip of lucy cutting her leg

Change the dialogue from "i can decide between 3 boys" to "Is this too slutty?.. who am I kidding I don't care!". - we have done this and added in a clip of the main protagonist looking through clothes of what too wear

On a night out they see the group of boys and girls, not a pre-set date. - the girls now walk in, see the boys and the other girls and sit down with them

Unidentifed killer, can see Lucy in the first killing - we have got rid of the first killing with the hair dryer and changed it too a different charcter being killed by opening the door yet the audience dont know who it is, only that the girl recognises her

They have a photo taken in the bar - a photo of them having a photo being taken is now our main poster

20th February

Music should be in from the start - we put in a high pitched toned 'creepy' music in the background of the opening scenes as we liked the idea of when Lucy puts the CD in the CD player and then the music coming in

There should be a voice over for titles and also for scenes of Lucy looking through the wardrobe as there would be less need for conversation and cut the clip up better - we got a deep male voice too do the voice over for the tities and inter-cut the clips.

Shorter takes are needed - we edited down alot of clips too a shorter time limit

CD should start at the beginning of the trailer

Interact shots with girls getting ready with the scenes at the bar

Inter-cut more scenes of clothing coming off

We recorded some of our feedback from a camera and then posted it on our blog as a podcast; this was a more reliable way of remembering what the audience feedback was exactly.
